Refund & Cancellation Policy

How to cancel your subscription, when refunds apply, and how long they take.

§ 01

TL;DR

We want you to know the terms BEFORE you pay — not after.

You can cancel anytime on the Subscription page. Access continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds — only in the cases listed below.

§ 02

Right of withdrawal (Polish UoPK, 14 days)

If you are a consumer (natural person without an active JDG), the Polish Consumer Rights Act (Dz.U. 2014 item 827) grants 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason.

  • The clock starts on the day of your first subscription payment.
  • To use this right, email shaposhnik.mcd@gmail.com with subject «Withdrawal».
  • We refund the full amount to the same payment method within 14 days of receiving your statement.

Exception (art. 38 pkt 13): if you explicitly consented to start delivery of digital content before the 14-day period ends and confirmed you understand you lose the right of withdrawal, no refund applies. This clause activates when you tick the mandatory consent box at Stripe Checkout — accepting the Terms together with your consent to immediate start of the service and your acknowledgment that you lose the right of withdrawal.

§ 03

Cancelling your subscription

Cancellation stops the next charge. Access continues until the end of the paid period.

  • Monthly: cancel at least 1 day before renewal — next charge will not happen.
  • Yearly: cancel anytime; access continues until year-end. Pro-rata refund only in cases from §4.
  • Downgrade: applies from the next period. Difference is not refunded.
§ 04

When we refund (outside the 14-day window)

Pro-rata refund is available in these cases:

  • Service outage longer than 48 consecutive hours on our side, preventing access to paid features.
  • Double charge or billing error — refunded within 5 business days.
  • Fraudulent charge (confirmed by Stripe) — instant refund + payment method blocked.
§ 05

What is NOT refundable

Listed transparently to avoid disputes:

  • Unused days in an active period after you cancelled (access continues — that's not a refund).
  • A subscription where the plan was used (documents/JPK/invoices were generated) — outside cases in §4 and §2.
  • Bookkeeper consultation payments — refunded under a separate policy; see Bookkeeper Marketplace Terms (in preparation).
  • Payment processor fees (Stripe keeps a processing fee that we cannot access).
§ 06

How to file a request

No forms, no chatbots — plain email:

  1. Email shaposhnik.mcd@gmail.com with subject «Refund» or «Cancellation».
  2. Include account email, charge date, transaction ID (Stripe receipt), brief reason.
  3. We confirm receipt within 1 business day.
  4. Decision within 5 business days; refund within 14 days of decision to the same payment method.

If you don't hear back in 2 business days, resend your message with the same subject.

§ 07

Chargebacks

If you have a complaint about a charge, contact us first. A direct chargeback through your bank before trying support makes the process harder for you and may freeze your account until the dispute is resolved. We always respond.

§ 08

Policy changes

Changes to this policy are not retroactive — they apply only to payments made after the update date. Active subscriptions remain on the old version until renewal.
